The Arabian Nights

The Arabian Nights is a collection of folk tales from the Middle Eastern areas. The story centres on a Persian king Shahariyar and one of his wife Shahrazad who was very clever and intelligent. Shahrazad starts telling the stories to King Shahariyar on their first night to save her life from the execution. The collection of the stories is very rich and nicely connected to each other. Stories start from the first night and are semantically continuous to the thousand nights. 

It covers the different countries, regions, and cultures of the Middle East. The tales are based on different themes like adventure, magic, love, and betrayal. The book Arabian Nights includes famous tales such as Aladdin and the Magic Lamp, Ali Baba & the Forty Thieves, Sinbad the Sailor, and many more.

Harry Potter

Harry Potter is one of the most read and praised fantasy books around the world which make it a famous cult classic fantasy book. It is a series of books including seven volumes. 

The Harry Potter series centers around a young boy named Harry Potter who discovers on his eleventh birthday that he is a wizard. Raised by his neglectful aunt and uncle, Harry’s life changes dramatically when he receives an invitation to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. At Hogwarts, Harry learns about magic, makes close friends like Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, and uncovers the truth about his parents’ mysterious deaths.

The main theme of the Harry Potter series is the battle between good and evil. The series also delves into issues of prejudice, the misuse of power, and the complexities of choice. By reading the Harry Potter series you will travel through a world of magic and dark power.

The Lord Of The Rings

The Lord Of The Rings is one of the all-time best fantasy books. This fantasy fiction is praised by people all around the world. The Lord Of The Rings is a series including 6 books. The story of The Lord of the Rings is about a young hobbit named Frodo Baggins who is on a mission to destroy a powerful and evil ring to save the world from the Dark Lord Sauron. 

The Ring consists of huge dark power and Lord Sauron is the owner of the ring. The ring can control the person and others who hold it. It leads the beholder to the evil personality and creates worse complexity around the beholder.

But it is not easy to destroy the ring. It must be thrown into the fires of Mount Doom, where it was made. And it makes Frodo’s journey more dangerous and challenging. I suggest you read this wonderful cult classic fantasy fiction series to know what happened to Frodo at the end and how was his journey.

Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland

Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland is an imaginative journey of a young girl named Alice. One day Alice fell into a rabbit hole and reached into a fantastical wonderland. There she encounters a series of peculiar characters, including the White Rabbit, the Cheshire Cat, the Mad Hatter, and the Queen of Hearts.

Throughout the story, Alice experiences various adventures that help her understanding of reality and herself. This is an awesome fantasy fiction, especially for the younger readers.

A Wizard of Earthsea

A Wizard of Earthsea classic fantasy book is one of my favorites. The story of the book follows a young boy named Ged, who is born with great magical potential. But Ged is initially reckless with his powers.

He attends a prestigious school for wizards on the island of Roke where his ambitions grow higher and he accidentally creates a shadowy creature that starts following him. It turns his life and experiences various challenges and adventures. 

The Tombs of Atuan

The Tombs of Atuan is the second book in Ursula K. Le Guin’s Earthsea series. The story follows a young girl named Tenar who is taken from her family and becomes the high priestess of the ancient and mysterious Tombs of Atuan. There she is raised in a harsh and isolated environment, Tenar’s life is fully controlled by the dark power of the priestesses.

Her world changes dramatically when the wizard Ged, the lead character of the first book, A Wizard of Earthsea, arrives in the Tombs in search of a powerful artifact. From here the story takes a great turn and develops through their deep understanding and mutual respect versus loyalty and personal freedom. Tenar sees a new life calling her but duties and loyalty tied her.

The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe

The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is the part of famous fantasy classic fiction The Chronicles of Narnia. I love this book especially. The story is based on four siblings named Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy Pevensie. Due to World War II, they are sent to live in the home of an old Professor.

While exploring the Professor’s mansion, Lucy discovers a magical wardrobe that leads her to the land of Narnia, a world frozen in eternal winter by the White Witch. There She meets with Mr. Tumnus and learns about the condition of Narnia. Mr. Tumnus tells her that Narnia is waiting for a prophecy to be fulfilled and for Aslan, the great lion, to return and bring spring.

Neverwhere

Neverwhere is about Richard Mayhew, an ordinary man living in London. His life changes dramatically when he helps a young woman named Door. She is being chased by dangerous people. After saving her, Richard is mysteriously pulled into a hidden world called London Below, which exists beneath the real London.

There Richard finds that his old life has been erased and no one remembers him. To return to his normal life, he must help Door find her way and uncover the truth about her past. Richard starts meeting various unusual characters and facing many challenges. This story is a blend of fantasy and adventure.

The Belgariad

The Belgariad is a popular fantasy book. This is a five-book fantasy series. The story is based on a young farm boy named Garion who discovers he is part of an ancient prophecy. His ordinary life changes when he learns that he is destined to play a crucial role in a grand adventure.

Garion’s journey takes him across a magical world where he encounters powerful wizards, fierce warriors, and dark forces. Garion falls into a battle between good and evil. Garion uncovers secrets about his past and fights to fulfill his destiny.

The Once and Future King

The Once and Future King is a retelling of the Arthurian legends. The story follows the life of King Arthur from his childhood to his death. Arthur is raised by a kind tutor, Merlyn, who teaches him about leadership and morality. 

As he grows up, Arthur becomes king and establishes a Round Table of knights who are dedicated to justice and chivalry. But King Arthur faces the downfall of his kingdom and the betrayal of those he trusted.
